I recently had the pleasure of reading Military Friends ABC book by Tony Hunter. This book caught my attention the moment I saw it.
This is a very cool kids ABC book! Using a military theme, each page is dedicated to a letter of the alphabet. Each letter page shows a military vehicle, ship or aircraft that starts with that letter, the alphabet letter and the NATO phonetic alphabet from Alpha to Zulu .
Also included is a fun rhyme that describes the role of the military vehicle, ship or aircraft.
This book is a wonderful way for children to learn about the alphabet as well as how various military machines are used.
I love the illustrations. Each military machine has their own personality with expressions on their faces!
Military Friends ABC is not Just for Kids!
Military Friends ABC book is great for adults too! If you’ve ever been confused about the NATO phonetic alphabet or were curious about the role of military vehicles, ships and aircraft, you can learn it all right in this book in an enjoyable way.
I love the K page! It features a cute image of a Kiowa helicopter with a serious look on its face. The top of the page displays Kk and the phonetic word “kilo.”
At the bottom of the page is a simple description of its job: K is for Kiowa, a quick-flying scout.
At the end of the book, one page is dedicated to the alphabet letters, all decked out in camouflage. The next page takes you from Alpha to Zulu with everything in-between.
Military Friends ABC is a wonderful book for kids and adults! I highly recommend it.
